SSC Stenographer Eligibility

For the vacancies of Stenographer in several government departments, the recruitment of Grade C and Grade D Stenographer is conducted by Staff Selection Commission.   • Subject of Bhutan
  • Subject of Nepal
  • A Tibetan’s refugee’s descendant who came before 1/1/1962 to India with the purpose of setting in India permanently.
  • A person migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Kenya’s East African countries, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Malawi, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia, Vietnam and Ethiopia who is of Indian origin and came with the intention of setting in India permanently.

Criteria of Age limit:

  • The age of candidate who is willing to apply for the exam must be between 18-27 years. The candidates born before 02/08/1990 and after 01/08/1999 are not eligible for the exam.

All those who fulfill the age criteria mentioned above are eligible for the exam. As per the rules of government, relaxation in age is there for the reserved categories as given below:

Age relaxation:

  • ST/SC- 5 years
  • OBC- 3 years
  • PH- 10 years

Educational qualification:

The willing candidates who want to apply for SSC Stenographer post must have passed 12th (senior secondary exam) from central or state board or any other correspondent exam from an institute that is acknowledged by Parliament or state legislature to be eligible for the exam.
