Every year, the SSC JE Examination is conducted by Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of deserving candidates in for several posts such as Junior Engineer (Electrical and Civil) in Department of Posts and Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Junior Engineer (Mechanical&Electrical), Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Contract& Quantity Surveying) in Military Engineering Service, Junior Engineer (Mechanical& Civil) in Farakka Barrage and Central Water Commission (CWC). Eligibility Criteria: SSC JE Examination

Educational Qualification:

  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), CPWD- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diploma in Electrical Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil), CPWD- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diploma in Civil Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), Department of Posts- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diploma (3 years) in Electrical Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil), Department of Posts- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diploma (3 years) in Civil Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University.
  • Junior Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical), MES-B.Tech./ B.E./ in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering ORDiploma (3 years) in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineeringfrom acknowledged Institute/ University and work experience of 2 years in engineering works (mechanical/electrical).
  • Junior Engineer (Civil), MES- B.Tech./ B.E./ in Civil Engineering OR Diploma (3 years) in Civil Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University and work experience of 2 years in engineering works (civil).
  • Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diploma (3 years) in Civil Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ UniversityOR passed intermediate exam in Quantity and Building Surveying (Sub Divisional-II) from the Institute of Surveyors (India).
  • Junior Engineer (Mechanical & Civil), Central Water Commission- B.Tech./ B.E./ Diplomain Mechanical/ Civil Engineering from acknowledged Institute/ University.

Age Limit:

  • Junior Engineer (Electrical, Civil & Mechanical), Central Water Commission and CPWD- Not beyond 32 years.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical & Civil), Junior Engineer and Department of Post (Contract and Surveying), MES- 18-27 years.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical, Civil & Mechanical), MES- Not beyond 30 years.
  • For the reserved categories, age relaxation is there as per the rules of the Government in the upper age limit.

Application Form (SSC JE Examination)

The application form for SSC JE Examination will be available online at the website of SSC. Both parts of the application namely “Apply Part” and “Registration Part” are required to be filled.

Selection Procedure: SSC JE

  • Step 1: Paper 1(Written Examination), Objective Type (200 marks) (Online Type)
  • Step 2: Paper 2 (Written Examination), Conventional Type (300 marks) (Offline Type)

Syllabus and Exam Pattern: SSC JE

  • The written exam of SSC JE is conducted in two stages i.e. Paper-1 and Paper-2.
  • Paper-1, SSC JE: It consists of 3 parts: (1) General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks), (2) General Awareness (50 marks) and (3) General Engineering (100 marks)
  • General Engineering, it consists of 3 parts: Part-1 (Structural & Civil), Part-2 (Electrical) and Part-3 (Mechanical). Only one part is required to be attempted that is relevant to the JE post for which the candidate is applied.
