SSC CPO SI Exam Syllabus

Staff Selection Commission is conducting CPO exam for the post of Sub Inspector. Every year, lakhs of students get enrolled for few thousands of post. We are providing com SSC CPO SI exam syllabus so that all the willing candidates can go through the information in detail and prepare accordingly to fight the exam.

The Exam will be conducting in two parts.

  1. Paper I
  2. Paper II

Both the paper will comprise of 200 marks. Paper I will be having four section each of 50 marks and Paper II will carry 200 marks. The complete detail is given below:

Paper I:

Section A: Reasoning and General Intelligence

Maximum Marks: 50

Section B: General Awareness and General Knowledge

Maximum Marks: 50

Section C: Numerical Aptitude

Maximum Marks: 50

Section D: English Comprehension

Maximum Marks: 50

The total time limit is 2 hours and each section will comprise of 50 Questions; in total 200 questions will be there.

SSC CPO SI Exam Syllabus: Paper I:

Section A:Reasoning and General Intelligence:

This is the most scoring part of the exam. The little efforts put together can help you in upgrading your marks. This section comprises of questions that are verbal as well as non verbal. It includes analogies and analysis related questions, differences and similarities, spatial orientation and visualizations, problem solving judgment based questions, relationship concepts, visual memory, observation, figure classification and arithmetical reasoning, number and non-verbal series, decoding and coding, statement and conclusion, syllogism etc.

Section B: General Awareness:

This section comprises of questions which not only test the current awareness, environmental awareness, daily observations but also candidate’s knowledge in History, Culture, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution etc.

Section C: Numerical Aptitude:

The questions in this section are designed in such a way that it checks the numerical ability of the candidates. Questions comprises of Whole number, fractions, decimal number, relation between the numbers, translating of numbers, sense of magnitude, handling real life problems and knowledge of finding alternative solution to the problem. Questions are based on the arithmetical concepts.

Section D: English Comprehension:

This test mainly checks candidates’ ability to understand English correctly, writing ability and basic comprehension etc.

SSC CPO SI Syllabus: Paper II

Paper II is completely based on the English Language and Comprehension. The questions in this paper will test the understanding and command on English Language of the candidates. This section comprises of questions related to error recognition, Vocabulary, Grammar, sentence structure, Synonyms, Sentence completions, phrases and Idioms etc. Section will also include questions on the comprehension of passages.

NOTE 1: Taking into the consideration, category-wise vacancies and number of candidates, the commission has the decision to fix minimum qualification marks in each part of paper I. Those who have secured marks above the cut-off will be permitted to appear in Medical Examination.

NOTE 2: Candidates who will successfully pass the PET/ Medical Exam and thus the marks obtained will be taken into consideration along with the marks of Paper II for final ranking and selecting them for the interview.The PET marks will also carry weight age in final selection.
