Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for SSC CGL for the recruitment of eligible candidates for several posts in government sector. All the candidates who are interested to apply for the exam must first go through the eligibility criteria so as to ensure that their age and academic qualification ascertain the criteria asked by Staff Selection Commission. As per the eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2017, the age of candidates applying for the exam must be between 18 to 31 years. Eligibility Criteria of SSC CGL Examination:

Age Limit Eligibility:

For the determination of age of the candidate, Staff Selection Commission will only accept the Date of Birth that is recorded in the Secondary Examination Certificate/Matriculation. The minimum age limit is 18 years while maximum age limit is 32 years to be eligible for the exam.

Educational Qualification:

Assistant Audit Officer:

  • Necessary qualification: The candidate must hold Bachelor’s Degree from an acknowledged Institute or University.
  • Desired qualification: Cost & Management Accountant or Chartered Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Business Studies, Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Economics or Masters in Business Administration (Finance).

 Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

  • The candidate must hold Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from acknowledged Institute or University. Also, at the 12th standard level, the candidates must have secured at least 60% in Mathematics.
  • The candidate must hold Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with one of the subjects being Statistics at the degree level.


The candidate must hold Bachelor’s Degree from any acknowledged University with Statistics or Economics or Mathematics as Elective or Compulsory.

For all the other posts:

The candidate must hold Bachelor’s Degree from an acknowledged University or alike.

Computer Proficiency Test is also an Essential Qualification for the posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS)

Age relaxation: As per the rules of government, certain reserved categories are provided with age relaxation.
